Prognosis
Platelet recovery in patients with confirmed HIT typically occurs within 1 week (median 4 days) of appropriate treatment, although it can take significantly longer in aggressive cases.[40] HIT antibodies are transient and usually spontaneously resolve within 100 days. In patients who do not experience initial complications, there are no known long-term implications of HIT other than the risk of recurrence on prolonged re-exposure to heparins.
