Photobiomodulation
Photobiomodulation, or low-level laser therapy, has been suggested as a palliative treatment option for patients with symptomatic geographic tongue to advance healing and reduce the discomfort associated with the condition.[29] One randomized double‐blinded controlled clinical trial reported significant symptomatic coreduction of discomfort associated with geographic tongue with low-level laser therapy; however further evidence is required before this treatment modality could be considered as part of routine clinical practice.[29]
