Screening

US Preventive Services Task Force recommends against routine screening for ovarian cancer, especially in low-risk patients.[57] In high-risk patients (i.e., patients with BRCA-1/BRCA-2 mutations or a family history of ovarian cancer), referral for formal genetic counseling may be warranted to better assess the patient's risk. This should be done with the input of a gynecologic oncologist.[39]
