Self-limited condition with usual resolution within 3-5 days in healthy patients, even without antibiotic treatment.
Treatment with antibiotics is associated with a shorter duration of diarrhea (approximately half a day on average). Although side effects can occur, most of these are minor and resolve on discontinuation of the antibiotic.[34]
