Bursitis

During an acute septic bursitis, patients will require review every 2 to 3 days to ensure that symptoms are settling. Orthopedic follow-up is recommended to ensure that symptoms have resolved and there is no underlying risk factor that needs to be addressed. If bursitis recurs, orthopedic opinion is advised.

Most patients with nonseptic bursitis only require follow-up if symptoms do not resolve or if they reoccur.
