Criteria
Rome IV criteria[2][3]
Recurrent abdominal pain, on average at least 1 day per week in the last 3 months and associated with two or more of the following criteria:
Related to defecation
Associated with a change in frequency of stool
Associated with a change in form (appearance) of stool.
Manning criteria[51]
Recurrent abdominal pain and at least two of the following:
Relief of pain with defecation
More frequent stools at the onset of pain
Looser stools at the onset of pain
Visible abdominal distension
Passage of mucus per rectum
A sensation of incomplete evacuation.
