All potential hepatotoxic drugs as well as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) should be avoided during the hospital course and immediately following recovery. Patients who receive a liver transplant will also require close follow-up on an outpatient basis for management of immunosuppressive drugs and postoperative care.
