Criteria
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): leptospirosis (Leptospira interrogans) case definition[60]
Clinical criteria include history of fever within the past 2 weeks and at least two of the following:
Myalgia
Headache
Jaundice
Conjunctival suffusion without purulent discharge
Rash (i.e., maculopapular or petechial).
Or at least one of the following:
Aseptic meningitis
Gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea)
Pulmonary complications (e.g., cough, breathlessness, haemoptysis)
Cardiac arrhythmias, ECG abnormalities
Renal insufficiency (e.g., anuria, oliguria)
Haemorrhage (e.g., intestinal, pulmonary, haematuria, haematemesis)
Jaundice with acute renal failure.
