Painless lymphocytic thyroiditis

Patients should be familiar with the symptoms of both hypothyroidism and thyrotoxicosis (hyperthyroidism), and request a thyroid-stimulating hormone measurement from their physician if symptoms occur in the years or decades following an episode of painless thyroiditis.
