Epidemiology
A common clinical problem, with a population prevalence of around 7% to 12%.[3] Generally, common warts affect children aged 5 to 10 years and young adults. Only 15% occur in patients older than 35 years. Warts are also more prevalent in patients with endogenous or exogenous immunosuppression, such as in HIV, transplant recipients, or patients receiving chemotherapy or other immunosuppressive medications.
