Experimental therapies
No therapies are approved or recommended for the treatment of West Nile virus infection. However, there are numerous case series and case reports regarding the use of various experimental treatments including immunoglobulin (polyclonal or monoclonal), ribavirin, interferon, and corticosteroids. None of these therapies have been shown to improve outcomes; however, some physicians may use them in patients with neuroinvasive disease.[80]
