Monitoring

Because of the risk of re-infection, men and women should be re-tested approximately 3 months after treatment with antibiotics. If re-testing after 3 months is not possible, individuals should be re-tested if they present for medical care within 12 months of treatment.[5]

Pregnant women found to have a chlamydial infection should be re-tested 4 weeks after treatment, and again within 3 months.[5]
