Deep brain stimulation (DBS)
A small (n=16) open-label trial of adult women with chronic, treatment-resistant AN looking at DBS of the subcallosal cingulate found DBS to be well tolerated and associated with significant and sustained improvements in mood symptoms and body mass index at 12 months post-surgery.[126]
