Emerging treatments
Dupilumab in atopic dermatitis patients
Dupilumab, a recombinant human monoclonal antibody that inhibits interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 signalling, is used in the treatment of severe atopic dermatitis. Observational studies suggest that dupilumab can clear recalcitrant molluscum infections and cause dissemination of molluscum.[29][30][31][32]
Photodynamic therapy in HIV-positive patients
Photodynamic therapy using aminolevulinic acid has been described in six patients with HIV and molluscum who were resistant to traditional therapy.[33]
