Patients with long COVID benefit from consistent follow-up to evaluate the evolution of symptoms and response to treatment along with progression towards goals. If the patient’s symptoms worsen or do not improve, consider broadening the differential diagnosis. Encourage patients to report any new symptoms or change in symptoms, and any changes in activities or routines (keeping a symptom diary may help).[4] The specific interval between follow-up visits is patient specific, depending on symptoms and their severity, but initially consider a follow-up appointment every 2-3 months.[39]
