Primary prevention

No primary prevention strategy has been shown to be of benefit in primary PLMD. It seems prudent to recommend good sleep hygiene (e.g., relatively strict sleep schedule, and avoiding sleep deprivation, alcohol, smoking, and late-night exercise) for all patients; however, there is no evidence to support this measure.
