Smoking cessation, and avoidance of injury and other vasospastic triggers (cold and emotional stress), are important for prevention of digital ulcers in people with Raynaud's phenomenon.
For patients with GORD, the following should be avoided: eating within several hours of bedtime, recumbency within several hours after meals, caffeinated or carbonated beverages, and tight-fitting clothes.
