IEEE New York Young Professionals Climate and Sustainable Initiatives Group

Mission:
The motivation for creating this New York local group is to create a platform for networking, technology exchange, professional growth, and member recognition of the IEEE YP members and non-members focused on the Climate and Sustainability thematic area. The effort is supported and led by New York section members of the IEEE YP CSTF. You can find more about the body of work of IEEE YP CSTF in the link. (https://docs.google.com/document/d/13raWvuQTUVZrdMcVMCcbp266xmNoibo3SpglAo6SvqA/edit). Our mission also extends beyond IEEE, reaching out to individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizations aiming to foster collaboration and innovation in addressing pressing global challenges related to climate and sustainable technology. By establishing a vibrant community hub in the New York area, strategically positioned near the United Nations headquarters, our local group serves as a catalyst for impactful action. We plan to amplify the voices of young professionals in global discussions on climate resilience and sustainable technology. Through tangible initiatives, we contribute to positive environmental outcomes on both local and global scales. Partnering with local universities, industries, NGOs, international stakeholders, and governmental agencies, we harness the collective expertise and passion of our members. Therefore, this YP local group will allow the local YP volunteers to gain wide exposure to leadership, technical, and professional level volunteering while being exposed to the global conversation on critical topics. It will also allow the non-IEEE stakeholders to participate in our activities.
