First-Year Engineering Students Recruitment
This year, with the arrival of new first-year engineering students, IEEE PES UdeC is excited to introduce them to the IEEE Student Branch (SB) and, more specifically, the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter (SBC PES) at the University of Concepción. Our team will be visiting classrooms to give a brief presentation on: -What IEEE is and its global impact -What IEEE PES represents, both internationally and within our university -The events and activities we have organized in the past -Upcoming initiatives and opportunities for students to get involved This is a great opportunity to learn about our student chapter, the benefits of being part of IEEE PES, and how they can actively participate in technical workshops, industry talks, networking events, and more. In addition to the talks, the university’s electromobility team will showcase their cutting-edge electric go-kart. This demonstration highlights the creativity and engineering talent of our students and serves as a tangible example of how academic knowledge can be applied to real-world sustainable solutions. Girls in Tech Day
Este miércoles 24 de abril, WIE junto a la colaboración de la Rama Estudiantil de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Montevideo celebró el Día Internacional de las Niñas en las TIC con una actividad especial orientada a despertar vocaciones tempranas en tecnología. Entre las 11:30 y las 12:30 hs, un grupo de 46 chicas de 8vo y 9no año de secundaria participó en una experiencia práctica innovadora, donde lograron entrenar una placa Arduino con inteligencia artificial para controlar el encendido y apagado de un LED mediante movimientos corporales. A través de esta actividad, no solo se acercaron al mundo de la programación y la electrónica, sino que también experimentaron el potencial creativo de las tecnologías emergentes. La jornada estuvo marcada por el entusiasmo, la curiosidad y la capacidad de aprender haciendo. Desde la WIE seguimos comprometidas con generar espacios inclusivos y accesibles que inspiren a más jóvenes mujeres a animarse a explorar el mundo de las TIC.
