The first IEEE CT Section Life Members Affinity Group meeting and distinguished speaker talk & lunch will be held in-person on 31 January 2025 12:00-2:00PM at Casa Mia at Hawthorne, 2421 Berlin Turnpike, Berlin, CT 06037.
The distinguished speaker is Philip Rubin, Ph.D., who will give a talk titled "Obama's BRAIN: Behind the curtain of science policy at the White House." This talk will provide an overview of some of the early history of the White House BRAIN Initiative (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies), that was announced by the Obama administration on April 2, 2013, and will also give a sense of how science policy is shaped in our nation.
