Attention, students: The 16th annual Power and Energy Conference at Illinois (PECI) has announced a travel awards scholarship for its April 2025 event. This scholarship program intends to assist students who might not otherwise be able to attend PECI or have not attended a conference before. This upcoming event will take place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in Champaign, IL.

Eligibility is not limited to Central Illinois, and includes neighboring IEEE sections such as Central Indiana, Saint Louis, Chicago, Calumet, and Rock River Valley.

Students who wish to apply for financial assistance to attend PECU 2025 are urged to do so via the conference’s Google Docs application at:

According to the conference organizers: Student scholarships are available for underrepresented students attending PECI 2025. Professor recommendation is highly encouraged but not required. Participant travel support covers accommodation for up to two nights in a single/double hotel room within 5 miles of the conference venue.

Conference proceedings will take place on Thursday, April 10th at UIUC’s Power of Optimization of Electro–Thermal Systems (POETS) Center. PECI presentations will take place on Friday April 11th. Conference registration allows attendance for both Thursday and Friday.

PECI will award its scholarships on a rolling basis. Both applications and optional letters of recommendation are due by the posted deadline.
