This presentation, scheduled from 5:30–6:15 PM, on April 15th,  in Seattle University will be followed by "IEEE Seattle AI initiatives for Humanity  –  AI for Earthquake Relief: Exciting Progress", from 6:15–7:00 PM. Both talks will take place prior to the EXCOM meeting, which begins at 7:00 PM

The IEEE Seattle AI for Humanity Initiatives – AI for Fire Prevention and AI for Earthquake Relief: Exciting Progress was  presented and well praised by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell and other Senator and Congressional staff members as historically important.

Biography:

Dr. Sheree Wen is a distinguished former United States National Commissioner to UNESCO. She currently serves as the President of UNESCO Washington. . Sheree was nominated by national academicians and world leaders as Young Scientist of the Year and awarded a gold medal. She solved critical issues that hindered the rollout of the world's first MIP computer systems, making major contributions, She served in senior management at IBM.  Dr. Wen later built companies and factories in Asia and Yonkers, NY, producing leading-edge electronic products under the names of IBM, AT&T, Unisys supplied to the Federal, state and local governments, wholesales and chain stores.

She was awarded as the Top Women Supplier – NASA, Boeing and NASA’s 5 Star Quality Award, The United States SBA Administrator’s Award of Excellence. Featured as a top woman entrepreneur by The New York Times. Featured as a 20th Century Asian Professional Woman by Japan's Asahi News.

Dr. Wen is currently Vice Chair of IEEE USA R&D policy committee, the Chair of IEEE Seattle Section and Chair of AI initiative in region 6.  Last year, Dr. Wen organized IEEE  140th anniversary, World leaders’ AI Summit and workshops, Keynotes speakers include IEEE and USA Presidents, President of Microsoft Research, DOD CTO of AI, CTO of Google, Chief scientists of NVDIA and other Tech Leaders.  With over 100 volunteers and speakers, 27 workshops, 1535 Tickets were sold.

Over the past decade, Dr. Wen has been an active member of all IEEE-USA policy committees and has chaired both the Communication Policy Committee and the Cybersecurity Subcommittee.  Currently, She serves as the Vice Chair of the IEEE-USA R&D policy Committee.
