The highlight for this event is the talk from Prof. Valentina Donzella, from the University of Warwick, followed by presentations and posters from D²iCE student members. What do Intelligent Systems need to Learn? - The dark side of sensor data

This talk will cover an introduction to the main challenges associated with the quality and variability of data produced by sensors for Intelligent Systems, with a focus on Automotive. Data will be considered in relationship with perception (e.g. detection, segmentation, de-noising), touching upon datasets quality, data augmentation, compression, ‘raw’ data and more.

Biography:

Prof Donzella has been awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial fellowship (2020–2022) and she is a full college member of EPSRC. She is currently PI of a number of internationally funded projects, leads a group of around 15 researchers, and she is active on a number of committees and steering groups both within and outside the university.
