This is first in the series of webinars hosted by the India Chapter of SID (Society for Information Display) in partnership with IEEE EPS Delhi NCR chapter.
As India's electronic industry surges ahead, the latent Indian demand will inevitably catalyse its display industry. To enable the workforce for these emerging industries, Ministry of Education/AICTE has already placed display technology related electives in its curriculum revision dated 9th April 2024.
This webinar will focus on OLED technology fundamentals, innovations, and future applications, positioning OLED as the future of display technology.

- Dr. Sudheer Kumar is presently working as COO, National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur.
- He has over 24 years of experience in working academics and industries mainly in Solar Energy, Displays, Semiconductor and Electronics Industries spanning across globally. He has earlier served many key top positions in various industrial organizations and some of them are - Flisom AG, Switzerland, Tata Industries Ltd, Moserbaer Solar Ltd. and SAMTEL Color Ltd.
- His main contribution belongs to the areas of project conceptualization, SBU/Plant Operation, Supply Chain Management, Business development / management, Evaluation of many companies, Technology Transfer, value engineering and startup projects with chronicle success of driving benchmarks, setting-up growth and expansion for reputed organizations.

The display industry in 2025 is witnessing rapid advancements driven by AI-powered image processing, microLED breakthroughs, and foldable & rollable form factors. OLED technology continues to dominate premium segments, while sustainability initiatives push for energy-efficient and recyclable displays. The rise of AR/VR wearables is fueling demand for ultra-high-resolution microdisplays, while automotive and healthcare sectors integrate next-gen screens for enhanced user experiences. Quantum dots and transparent displays are reshaping commercial and retail applications. This presentation explores key trends, emerging technologies, and market disruptions shaping the future of the display industry, offering insights into opportunities for businesses and innovators alike.
Biography:
Dr.Ashwini Aggarwal is the Country Advisor to Society for Information Display, USA (SID) and is currently Professor of Practice at Manav Rachna International Institute for Research Studies at Faridabad/Delhi NCR. He is also an IEEE Senior Member, Founder Chair of the Delhi NCR Chapter of IEEE EPS (semiconductor packaging) & a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecom Engineers.
Dr Ashwini has over 40+ years of industry experience, has retired from Applied Materials (US MNC) in August'24. As the India advisor to SID, he works with the Government, Academia and Industry to advocate display technology & enable display industr. He is actively engaged with the semiconductor/display/nano-technology industry in his professional practise. He is also the chair of the semiconductor manufacturing NOS ( skill) committee at Electroniics Sector Skill Council and has contributed to the AICTE revised curriculum on the subject as a part of the advisory committee for manufacturing skills to enable India's semiconductors and display industry.
