MATLAB with Python Workshop
MATLAB provides a flexible, two-way integration with many programming languages, including Python. This feature allows different teams to work together and use MATLAB algorithms within production software and IT systems. If you have functions and objects in Python, you can call them directly from MATLAB. This allows you to exclusively work in MATLAB without having to switch your programming environment. In this workshop we will discuss different ways that you can incorporate Python into MATLAB. We also will look at several examples and learn how to incorporate the SunPy Python package for solar data analysis. This will be an interactive and fun workshop, so do not forget to bring your laptop!
Jon Loftin is a Customer Success Engineer at MathWorks Jon’s background is in mathematics. More specifically, implementing mathematics in a computer. He holds degrees in mathematics: a BS from Southern Arkansas University, a MS from the University of Arkansas, and a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. He has had years of teaching experience, from teaching at the Naval Nuclear Power School to teaching as an Assistant Professor. Jon’s research focus is building efficient integration techniques in finite element methods.
