Distinguished Industrial Lecture: Energy Transition 2.0: When conservatism, complexity and AI collide
Abstract:
Adam Middleton and Sabrina Mercer will present The Energy Transition 2.0, focusing upon how the Energy Industry has become even more volatile and uncertain following recent macroeconomic and societal changes. This seminar will examine what is happening in Energy today. This will cover a wide variety of topics including Global macro economics and the potential impact upon the Energy Transition, the Business Environment, VUCA (volatile / uncertain / complex / ambiguous) and BANI (brittle / anxiety / non-linear / incomprehensible) and their implication.
From there it will look at innovation, resilience and Weatherproofing in energy: critical capabilities for the next generation of energy industry leaders before examining the personal implications of Professor Middleton’s career in the energy sector, and what would be done differently. They will look to draw conclusions and implications for the Energy Transition in Europe.
