Cover image: MR scan of brain with (A) axial 3D T1-weighted, (B+C) T2 turbo spin echo (TSE) and (D+E) axial and coronal 3D T2 fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) sequences showing progressive bilateral basal ganglia abnormalities with the addition to symmetrical abnormal signal surrounding the posterior body of lateral ventricles, and also cortical and subcortical involvement. (F) MRI spectroscopy (MRS), voxel placed over normal appearing white matter in the anterior right centrum semiovale. MRS performed at a long echo-time (TE) of 270 ms. A characteristic lactate double peak can be seen resonating at 1.3 ppm (G) abnormal FP-CIT single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scan showing bilateral reduced uptake (see Watson-Fargie T, et al. page 49).
