Corinne Camilleri-Ferrante was steeped in medicine as a child, as her father (the late Professor A P Camilleri) was dean of Malta medical school. Strong family loyalty and strong faith would mark her life at every stage and in every place she worked. Political upheavals while she was at the Royal University of Malta required her to transfer to University College London in 1977 to complete her medical studies.
