The report, funded by Cancer Research UK, will provide a baseline for monitoring and guiding health policy in the future.
Drug company money supports Obama: The US Democrats’ presidential candidate, Barack Obama, has received three times as much in campaign donations from drug industry donors as the Republican candidate, John McCain ($450 000 (£245 000; €310 000) versus $132 000). Mr McCain has criticised drug companies for charging the US government health plans Medicare and Medicaid too much.
