Welcome to the OASIS Forum. You are invited to help us improve OASIS by posting, commenting and voting on ideas.
All we require is your name and a professional (work) email address then you are ready to submit, review and vote. Our OASIS Forum is open for all OASIS users.
Tips:
- For customer support or to report a bug, please visit support.proquest.com
- An idea can be deleted if you’ve submitted it and no one has voted or commented on it.
We will read every post, although we may not be able to respond to every idea or comment submitted. This information will provide our development team with valuable input on priorities for OASIS improvements.

Oasis should have the capability to download an entire search result.
Oasis should have the capability to download an entire search result. Currently, it appears a user can only add up to 200 records at a time to a list and then download the list. We should be able to download an entire search result without adding a small number to a list repeatedly.

Improve accuracy of stock status
Display accurate and genuinely ‘live’ stock updates on Oasis, with feeds from the suppliers that are actually used to source the stock. The current ‘in stock’ status is misleading as it doesn't mean an item is immediately available.
24 votesThis work was completed with recent enhancements to the OASIS UI to display “In stock with supplier” and “Order requests accepted”

Adding the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classification in the advanced search
Could you please add the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classification in the advanced search options? Since that classification is already in the records, it could be nice to see it in the classification drop down menu.
2 votesThe NLM class "W" can now be accessed from the LC class schedule.

Label all 3rd party publisher content as DRM-free
Please tag all of the 3rd party publisher content with the DRM-free label, in the same way that DRM-free Ebook Central ebooks are tagged.

Make curated lists more accessible
Curated topic lists are only accessible to OASIS users or LibCentral users. We would like the lists to be available to non-users so that for example, our Academics could access current lists. Can the lists be posted somewhere more accessible? You are likely to get more orders when they are more visible as Academics are more likely to add the titles to reading lists.

Show VAT and discount in the price for e-books
Other suppliers clearly show what the cost price, VAT and total price (including discount) are for ebooks. It would be good if OASIS could do the same.
20 votesWe have completed the work to show ebook discounts in OASIS with the EBC discounting tool that is now available in the Checkout and Authorize Orders screens.

Fix the Search
The Quick Search should work as well as the Advanced Search, and both need better ranking of results so that the titles I expect to see are at the top of the page.

Organize items with separated headings for better readability
Instead of combining all the item information in one long line. Readability would improve by organizing and separating each component with a heading and/or its own line. For example:
Title:
Author:
ISBN:
Publisher:
Price List:

The default number for copies to order should be one. No one ever orders 0 copies.
It's a waste of time changing the 0s to 1s.

Search should ignore all punctuation & non-alphabetic characters
Currently the inclusion of basic punctuation such as colons, apostrophes, semicolons, etc. often cause searches to fail. This is especially true when copying titles from a web page, and is even worse when using the Quick Search box. If the searches just ignored all punctuation and non-alphabetic characters, this would not be a problem.
8 votesWith the exception of 4 operators, the search will ignore punctuation now in both advanced and quick search.
1 - Double Quotes will allow an exact text search.
2 - plus sign will allow forced inclusion
3 - minus sign will allow forced exclusion
4 - asterisk will allow truncation

Add Boolean language and truncation to search
All search boxes should support Boolean AND, OR, and NOT, as well as truncation. Currently there is no way to exclude words from a search, or combine synonyms or alternate forms of a word into a single search.

Alternate Print: list availability
My primary purpose of viewing "alternate prints" is to check availability. Currently, I can only view the alternate print's availability status after selecting it. It would be helpful if that availability was listed with the rest of the information: ISBN/Publisher/Year/Binding/Price/Currency.
3 votesAs part of the new Search results UI released in March, we now include the title availability within the format drop-down, to allow side-by-side comparison of available print formats.

Recommended Title Lists
I would like access to curated subject lists and other types of recommended title lists, like best sellers, award winners, or even titles that will be pulled off Academic Complete.
7 votesThis feature is now live. Click on the link under the “Review Titles” navigation tab. We plan on adding more lists on a regular basis

This was included as part of the new search interface--wherever editor information is available in the author metadata. We hope to expand it even further down the road.
