  1. Improve COUNTER 4 and COUNTER 5 Reports

ALL COUNTER 4 and 5 Reports
Please find a way to alphabetize the titles in all COUNTER 4 and 5 reports properly so that initial articles are ignored (e.g., a, the). For example, A Practical Approach to Cardiovascular Medicine should sort under P rather than A and The Craft of Scientific Presentations : Critical Steps to Succeed and Critical Errors to Avoid should sort under C rather than T.

    COUNTER 5 Reports
The COUNTER 5 TR-B1 Report lists titles in an apparently random order as the default. Please change the default to alphabetical order.

    The COUNTER 5 TR_B1 Report doesn’t…

  2. Reconciling invoice payments into DDA deposit account more seamlessly

Recently our finance department paid a proforma invoice - I had to chase Proquest as the payment wasn't showing in our deposit account for nearly 3 weeks? This also happened with the previous deposit invoice. Can the process be made more seamless from your side so that deposit payments made into deposit accounts show immediately?

  4. Move the "WAIT LIST EMAIL" field and remove other email fields when patrons are authenticating via EZproxy

Our patrons are authenticating via EZproxy when accessing or place hold to eBooks. They are confused when setting up the Wait List Email "first time" because they always enter the "EMAIL" AND "CONFIRM EMAIL" information that causing them unable to set up the Wait List email address.

  5. Add a public note field on eBook records.

We'd like to add a public note to individual titles explaining why they have a different download model than the rest of our holdings. For example, the textbooks we purchase are all unlimited use, but with no download permissions. We'd like to have a public note field explaining why the user is unable to download that book.

  6. Refine search by Audience, e.g. Adult or Juvenile.

When I run a query on ProQuest Ebooks with the keyword "India," for example, the first results I get are clearly written for a juvenile audience. It wouldn't be appropriate for high school students to cite those results for an assignment and yet it could be easy for them to unwittingly use those titles. Likewise, a middle schooler conducting research on India should be able to filter for results that best match her reading level / age. The lack of this distinction is a significant issue and something that could substantially limit student use.

  7. Generating usage report by IP range, not just single IP address

In LibCentral we can download usage reports for one specific IP address at a time. If you need reports covering a whole IP range you have to email support to receive that. It would be very nice to generate those reports from LibCentral.

  8. Search for volume range

In using the Patrologia Latina database, it is impossible to search for a term across multiple volumes. This is a critical feature for the functionality of a database of this sort, and I ask that you make this possible. It is not feasible to search volume-by-volume in a collection that contains more than 200 volumes. At the same time, searching for a single term across the whole database produces too many search results. Also, it would be very useful to have an option to display results by volume number, not by publication date.

  9. Put subject facets in alphabetical order and collapsed

Current facet choices for subjects is frustrating. Instead of listing them in a drop down menu in popularity order, it would be more helpful in alphabetical order. Collapse all the facets that start with the same word and have a drill down from that word.

  10. Provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area, so it confuses users

Please provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area (we don't have an ILS, use courses reserves, or DDA), so it confuses users.

  11. When consortia settings override local settings, make it obvious in LibCentral

If our consortia has implemented settings for ebook download day limits, they override our local settings. However, it is not clear in LibCentral that this override is happening. Could Ex Libris please, in LibCentral, make it clear when our consortia have put in download limits settings and when they are overriding our local settings?

  13. Enable subject-based activation of Open Access Collection titles

The full Open Access Collection may not be relevant for an institution's patrons. It would be good if you could do a subject-based activation of only PARTS of the collection, in place of the entire collection. Currently you have to do exactly that and then deselect topics or single titles afterwards - which is rather cumbersome.

  14. It would be helpful if there was a way to download just the reader's highlights/annotations of a certain text.

It would be helpful if there was a way to download just the reader's highlights/annotations of a certain text. Not the whole chapter or book, but just the highlights portions that the reader has selected. Similar to the feature available in Kindle and other eReaders. This allows the reader to download/print only their annotations which can be helpful for academic writing, etc.

  15. Enable a "select all" for Patron Requests

It would be a time saver if we could "select all" from the Patron Requests list. Currently each box must be checked individually, which is a time consuming process.

  16. Please can Russian/Ukraian be added to the language settings?

Currently Russian/Ukrainian is not a alternative choice, due to the recent conflict, our college has had a high intake of learners, it would be extremely useful to hv this additional language added to eBook central

  17. Fix misleading Extended Access upgrade mediation steps

In extended access 3-user/1-user Turnaway Handling it states that:

Step2: Upgrade price limit - YES - (Books above this price will be mediated)

By setting a price limit, we are stating that if the difference between a 1U and a 3U is above the ceiling set, the book should mediate. This not the case - if a general setting for autopurchases has been set, then instead of mediating the system will buy a new 1U licence (leaving you with paying for 3x1U, instead of the expected 1U + EA difference to 3U) (up to your existing copy limit)

  18. Enable linking to a particular point on a page

When a chapter or other section of a book does not start at the top of a page, a link to that page may confuse readers who cannot immediately see the portion of text they have been asked to read. it would be great if links could also be made to the beginnings of chapters/sections; alternatively, it would be good to create links to custom-made anchors.

  20. local access permissions control consortia titles

When a consortium member library has different book download settings on its account than a consortium from which it inherits content, the library's own settings should govern access to consortium-purchased books when users access through that library's account.
