  1. Move the "WAIT LIST EMAIL" field and remove other email fields when patrons are authenticating via EZproxy

Our patrons are authenticating via EZproxy when accessing or place hold to eBooks. They are confused when setting up the Wait List Email "first time" because they always enter the "EMAIL" AND "CONFIRM EMAIL" information that causing them unable to set up the Wait List email address.

  2. Add a public note field on eBook records.

We'd like to add a public note to individual titles explaining why they have a different download model than the rest of our holdings. For example, the textbooks we purchase are all unlimited use, but with no download permissions. We'd like to have a public note field explaining why the user is unable to download that book.

  3. Refine search by Audience, e.g. Adult or Juvenile.

When I run a query on ProQuest Ebooks with the keyword "India," for example, the first results I get are clearly written for a juvenile audience. It wouldn't be appropriate for high school students to cite those results for an assignment and yet it could be easy for them to unwittingly use those titles. Likewise, a middle schooler conducting research on India should be able to filter for results that best match her reading level / age. The lack of this distinction is a significant issue and something that could substantially limit student use.

  4. Generating usage report by IP range, not just single IP address

In LibCentral we can download usage reports for one specific IP address at a time. If you need reports covering a whole IP range you have to email support to receive that. It would be very nice to generate those reports from LibCentral.

  5. Put subject facets in alphabetical order and collapsed

Current facet choices for subjects is frustrating. Instead of listing them in a drop down menu in popularity order, it would be more helpful in alphabetical order. Collapse all the facets that start with the same word and have a drill down from that word.

  6. Provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area, so it confuses users

Please provide a way to suppress the entire "Book Status" area from the "Refine Your Search" menu. We don't use this area (we don't have an ILS, use courses reserves, or DDA), so it confuses users.

    Thank you!

  7. When consortia settings override local settings, make it obvious in LibCentral

If our consortia has implemented settings for ebook download day limits, they override our local settings. However, it is not clear in LibCentral that this override is happening. Could Ex Libris please, in LibCentral, make it clear when our consortia have put in download limits settings and when they are overriding our local settings?

  9. Enable subject-based activation of Open Access Collection titles

The full Open Access Collection may not be relevant for an institution's patrons. It would be good if you could do a subject-based activation of only PARTS of the collection, in place of the entire collection. Currently you have to do exactly that and then deselect topics or single titles afterwards - which is rather cumbersome.

  10. Enable a "select all" for Patron Requests

It would be a time saver if we could "select all" from the Patron Requests list. Currently each box must be checked individually, which is a time consuming process.

  11. Please can Russian/Ukraian be added to the language settings?

Currently Russian/Ukrainian is not a alternative choice, due to the recent conflict, our college has had a high intake of learners, it would be extremely useful to hv this additional language added to eBook central

  12. Fix misleading Extended Access upgrade mediation steps

In extended access 3-user/1-user Turnaway Handling it states that:

Step2: Upgrade price limit - YES - (Books above this price will be mediated)

By setting a price limit, we are stating that if the difference between a 1U and a 3U is above the ceiling set, the book should mediate. This not the case - if a general setting for autopurchases has been set, then instead of mediating the system will buy a new 1U licence (leaving you with paying for 3x1U, instead of the expected 1U + EA difference to 3U) (up to your existing copy limit)

  13. Enable linking to a particular point on a page

When a chapter or other section of a book does not start at the top of a page, a link to that page may confuse readers who cannot immediately see the portion of text they have been asked to read. it would be great if links could also be made to the beginnings of chapters/sections; alternatively, it would be good to create links to custom-made anchors.

  15. Encourage/incentivize use of MathML to ensure better access for persons who are blind

More actively encourage or incentivize publishers to ensure that mathematical content in their e-books are accessible to persons who are blind or visually impaired. This can be done by including equations formatted as MathML (rather than just text or images of equations) and by including detailed descriptions of graphs as alt-text. Since eBook Central is situated between users and publishrs, it is in a strong position to help advocate for this type of improved accessibility.

  17. Modify the label of "Settings" and "Language"

My client suggests it's hard for them to get back to original language settings from other language settings.
Because they can't understand the meanings of other language label.
So I have 3 options to resolve the issue.
1.Put English menu next to original label. Ex. 設定:Settings, 使用言語:Launguage
2.Put images to each menu. Ex. Gear mark for Settings, globe mark for Language
    3. Place a language setting menu to top page menu bar like a Web of science.
These would help clients to understand the meanings intuitively.

As part of our ongoing commitment to a modern and intuitive platform, we have simplified and added icons to the global navigation bar. At present, these updates will only be visible on the Search Results page. However, as we progress with our updates, they will appear in additional locations throughout Ebook Central.
