  2. Include URLs in LibCentral Title Reports

Including urls in Title Reports can help manage holdings in third-party catalogs and discovery layers. Thank you!

  3. Ebook Central Upgrade Report

Create a report that can be routinely pulled in LibCentral that provides --turnaway data, unique access data, highest owned license, highest available upgrade, current price for highest available upgrade, upgrade path and Is the title included in any subscribed products. A report such as this will help with making ebook upgrade decisions in bulk on a routine basis.

  4. Change Full Download Options

The behavior for downloads is confusing. If you download a chapter, you get a PDF document. When you are downloading the book and are offered a selection of e-Pub and PDF, no matter what you chose, you always get an .acsm file for Adobe Digital editions to retrieve the information. Students do not understand that the only thing you are choosing is how the scrolling will be: e-pub (side to side) and PDF (up and down). They are looking for a PDF document. Solution - Add descriptors? Change the choices? Change choices from e-pub & PDF to:
    - Side-to-side scrolling…

  5. Include upgrade prices in LibCentral reports

It's really easy to get current new-purchase prices for a group of books: get their docids, run a title match, and the Excel report includes each book's current prices for each available license. It's really hard to get current upgrade prices: you have to open a book's LibCentral page, click the upgrade buttons, record the prices, and repeat for every book. The other day, I needed to find unlimited-access upgrade prices for 727 books, and it required most of my morning. Since the system knows the upgrade price, would it be that hard to add to a report? Just add…

  6. Add a 'Recent additions' carousel along with the 'Recently viewed' one

We regularly purchase additional titles to our package and we would like to promote those to our patrons. We are a specialised library and it would be good to be able to highlight those titles that have been chosed specifically for our patrons. Other e-book platforms have such carousels in place.

  7. Do not send mediated alerts when there are no options for upgrade

Currently, Ebook Central will send a mediated alert via email when a user was unable to access a limited-concurrency title. This alert will be sent regardless if the ebook is available for upgrade or not.

My suggestion for enhancement is to offer an option to either 1) send the mediated request or 2) treat it as a turnaway when the title in question is not available for upgrade

  8. Invert colors for accessibility

Those with dyslexia and eyesight problems have difficulty reading when the background is white and the letters are black.
The online reader overrides the desktop inverse color for the reader, so it's not possible for me to invert the colors in the reader--so it's very difficult for me to read the text in the reader.
For greater accessibility, it should be possible to invert the colors. Thanks!

  9. Highlight Holdings in differnt colour

In LibCentral (and also in patron portal) it would be very helpful, if holdings/owned titles would be highlighted in a different colour.
Currently owned, DDA, ATO titles are all highlighed yellow. For a better distinction it would be useful to highlight owned titles in a different colour.

  12. Alphabetize Bookshelves

I have multiple bookshelves - is there a way to sort the names of the bookshelves alphabetically? If so, can it happen even if we re-name a bookshelf? Thank you for taking feedback from your users!

    Best,

  13. Change holdings display when a Library holds a 3 user and unlimited user copies of same title

When a Library holds a 3 user ebook copy and an unlimited user copy, if you search for the title and access it, ProQuest shows you have access to only the 3 user copy. It would be better if it showed we have unlimited access

    Best,

  14. Shared bookshelf for team

team-bookshelf - on which a team could work together. Very participant should have the oppurtunity to bookmark/unbookmark books and also to see/have the team-bookshelf in its own account. So everybody of the team could work with the same bookshelf.

  15. Can you please make the turn away message customizable?

When faculty members embed specific content from Ebook Central that only allows students to access materials one at a time, there is no way to customize the turn away message. This would be incredibly helpful since we have electronic materials from multiple vendors and platforms. If the student does not use the catalog, they do not realize this. But having a customizable message, such as: "Locked out of this resource? Call the library now for access!" This would help our students so much more and make our interface more user-friendly. Thank you for considering this.

  16. Friendly language for number of users

The language used to describe number of users across all systems should be updated to be patron friendly. It is confusing for patrons and librarians!

  17. Drop-down menu Fund Codes

The values entered in the Fund Code Controls currently only appear in the cart as a dropdown menu.
The drop-down menu should also be displayed in the Patron Request so that you can see exactly which Fund Codes have already been created and should therefore be used

  18. DDA - Date Removed

It would be nice to have a "date removed" field for DDA titles. As titles are removed between file loads, patrons occasionally come across a record that has been removed from ProQuest but not from the catalog yet because the monthly file has not been created yet. If a title had a note of when it was removed from DDA, that would help clear up these problems. It would be similar to the "date added" field, but would be "date removed from DDA".

  19. Alert on new titles

Is it possible to implement alerts on recently added titles according patron's search terms? Referring to my experience this could also help promote DDA. Thanks.

  20. Update citation styles offered, and describe these more fully

The version of the Chicago style offered in Ebook Central is not the latest - could it be updated? There may be other citation styles that would benefit from updating too. Please also let readers see which version of each citation style is available - e.g. labelling it as Chicago/Turabian - Notes-Bibliography (17th edition) rather than just Chicago/Turabian - Notes-Bibliography. These two improvements would bring Ebook Central into line with other ProQuest/ExLibris products such as Art & Architecture Archive and Summon.
