The performance demands of microphones used on studio booms make vibration isolation a severe problem. A new shock mount accessory has been designed which offers excellent mechanical isolation within a small, unobtrusive package. A discussion is given, outlining the magnitude of the problem and its causes and the efficacy of the new design in helping to solve the problem.
