Results of a survey of 250 schools and programs for the hearing impaired showed that while 62 percent of responding schools for the hearing impaired included metric measurement in their curricula, teachers felt the need for more information and instruction-oriented training and materials. Among results of a survey of teacher education programs in California was that a large majority felt that it is important to train teachers to work with exceptional adults. Only 52.9 percent of the institutions offered some training in this area, while 17.6 percent offered a complete course of studies in the area. (CL)
