Compared Vocational Interest Inventory and Unisex versions of ACT Interest Inventory. Sex-restrictive results occurred. Women preferred Service and Artistic areas, and men Technical, Outdoor, and Scientific areas. The accuracy of manual and academic variables in predicting preclinical operative technique was evaluated. Correlations were low, but significant using the Perceptual Motor Ability Test (PMAT) of the Dental Admission Test. Students with low or average two-dimension scores on the PMAT benefited from an alternate teaching method. (JSR)

Using cognitive test data to simulate employment selection tests, data from 1,427 Northern Ireland students showed better science curriculum offerings in Protestant schools and differences in science provision for boys and girls. The psychometric characteristics of the Job Descriptive Index and other inventories of job satisfaction are examined across a sample of validation studies. Investigated the relationships of self-efficacy (via the Holland themes) to dimensions of personal style and personality. Examined correlations (1) Skills Confidence Inventory (SCI); (2) Myers-Briggs Type Indicator; and (3) Strong Interest Inventory.
