The appropriateness of the predominantly clinical PharmD curriculum in light of actual employment patterns of PharmD graduates was evaluated. Undocumented Mexican women workers in Los Angeles were interviewed about their work experience in the United States. Most of them work in factories, not in domestic service. Using an adjustment to the Graduate Medical Education National Advisory Committee (GMENAC) model that will take into account the changing male/female ratios of physicians, the estimated physician surplus in the year 2000 is reduced by approximately 28 percent of the GMENAC-predicted surplus. This paper ascertains the degree to which occupational sex-stereotyping is differentially found at different social class levels. Education is found to be strongly correlated with sex-stereotyping of 15 different occupations. Income level, on the other hand, is significantly related to such stereotyping in only two of the 15 cases. (Author)

Differences related to degree aspiration, desired nursing career specialty, and other nursing-related biographical variables were found among the four classes of a sample of 408 full-time non-RN female subjects in a baccalaureate nursing program.
