Throughout the profession's history, family and consumer sciences professionals have worked to consider what should be done about various social issues affecting individuals, families, and communities across the world. Hunger is a global issue pertaining to the right to life, human survival, sustainable communities, and promotion of healthy societies to enhance the quality of life. World hunger can be solved in our lifetime; institutions of higher education are joining the effort. On university campuses across the nation, college students are participating in Universities Fighting World Hunger. The work of today's students and professionals is showcased using Brown and Paolucci's framework for solving practical problems. (Contains 1 figure.)
