The Truth about Bad Attitudes
Schweikert, Gigi
Exchange: The Early Childhood Leaders' Magazine Since 1978, n198 p12-14 Mar-Apr 2011
Many people enter the early childhood field because they enjoy working with children. But unlike an elementary school teacher who usually teaches by herself in a self-contained classroom, early childhood professionals interact as much with the other adults in the classroom and the program as they do with the children. To be successful in early childhood education, the author suggests that educators love and work well with the children and the adults, even if the adults are not as cute. She outlines the characteristics of someone who has a good attitude at work and someone who has a bad attitude. She also presents a checklist of the bad attitude.
