Engendering Habits of Mind and Heart through Integrative Learning
Taylor, Simone Himbeault
About Campus, v16 n5 p13-20 Nov-Dec 2011
Like higher education itself, student affairs is a dynamic enterprise grounded in paradigms that have shifted over its history. This article frames the role of higher education at large, with a look at the role of student affairs in particular, to advance integrative learning. Portfolio pedagogy is described as one strategy for advancing integration. This pedagogy is grounded in reflective practice, a vital, under-utilized skill to prepare students for their journey as life-long learners and contributors. (Contains 1 figure.)
