Fueling the Future through CTE
Reese, Susan
Techniques: Connecting Education and Careers (J1), v86 n1 p16-21 Jan 2011
Job creation and finding new sources of renewable energy have been inextricably linked in recent months; green-sector growth is seen as vital to grow the economy and create new jobs. There appears to be a great deal of agreement on the need for alternative energy sources; however, there is also a great deal of work ahead for the U.S. in developing those sources, building the systems that will deliver them, and training the workforce needed to create and sustain the emerging industry of alternative energy. This article highlights CTE programs at the secondary and postsecondary levels that are inspiring youth to pursue green careers, and training workers to enter the green sector.
