ICHPER-SD Journal of Research, v5 n1 p54-59 Spr-Sum 2010
Millions of children in the United States participate in youth sports. The literature demonstrates that sexual abuse is a problem in sports. This study examined voluntary immunity statutes for all 50 states and the District of Columbia with the purpose of determining potential liability for recreational youth sport organizations for the pedophilic actions of their coaches, administrators, and officials. Comparisons and differences were drawn between the states regarding whether voluntary immunity statutes were applicable. (Contains 2 tables.)
