Developing Budget Models, Communication Strategies, and Relationships to Mitigate the Pain of Tough Economic Times
Varlotta, Lori E.; Jones, Barbara C.; Schuh, John H.
New Directions for Student Services, n129 p81-87 Spr 2010
Every reader of this volume will determine which information is most relevant to his or her home campus. Like their readers, the authors, as editors of the book, have identified prominent overarching themes and have organized this chapter around three of them. Accordingly, the authors highlight the three macrolevel approaches--identifying and implementing appropriate budget models and strategies, designing and disseminating effective communications, and creating and relying on key campus relations--that should help student affairs leaders get to the other side of almost any budget crisis. The authors end by posing several questions that warrant additional thought and ongoing response.
