Kelleher, Paul
Yearbook of the National Society for the Study of Education, v105 n1 p78-104 Apr 2006
In Greenwich now for 3 years, Larry Leverett is making the transition from a career in urban schools to educational leadership in a suburban environment. This chapter describes his recruitment to the position, his personal struggle about leaving urban for suburban education, his adaptation to Greenwich, and the surprises, controversies, and resistance he has confronted as he tries to persuade the community and the school organization to focus on the achievement of underperforming students. ["A Tale of Two Cities" was written with Larry Leverett.]
