Evaluating the Development of Culturally Relevant Teaching
Groulx, Judith G.; Silva, Cecilia
Multicultural Perspectives, v12 n1 p3-9 2010
This study investigates changes in beliefs about culturally relevant teaching in a re-designed early childhood program. Efficacy and beliefs favorable toward culturally relevant teaching increased, but students' prior experience with diverse others remained important. Greater programmatic support for practicing culturally relevant teaching is suggested to build upon students' apparent understanding of culturally relevant teaching. (Contains 3 tables.)
