Bridging the Theory-to-Practice Gap: Some Thoughts from an Internal OD Consultant
Myers, Nancy F.
Human Resource Development Review, v7 n4 p469-471 2008
In this article, the author shares her thoughts on bridging the theory-to-practice gap in human resource development (HRD). She says both theorists and practitioners are responsible for the gap between theory and practice. They need to open up their respective cultures to each other and invite one another to participate. They have to discard labels and stereotypes, recognizing instead the unique strengths and contribution of each discipline.
