Barber, Jamie
International Journal of Training and Development, v8 n2 p128-139 Jun 2004
Informal training is known to be the dominant skill acquisition strategy for the majority of workers in India and many other economically developing countries and there is much benefit in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of this form of training. A participant observation case study was undertaken in northern India to investigate these strengths and weaknesses as well as to search out causes and influences that may be of benefit to those that seek to understand the process of informal learning.
