Conflict Management: A Gap in Business Education Curricula
Lang, Matthew
Journal of Education for Business, v84 n4 p240-245 Mar-Apr 2009
Conflict management is a significant and unavoidable part of a manager's role in an organization. Employees need conflict management skills to manage themselves, make decisions, and work effectively in the ever-increasing team environment of today's organizations. In the present article, the author demonstrates the disconnect between the importance of conflict resolution skills in organizations and their lack of emphasis in undergraduate business curricula through a study of university Web sites from U.S.- and non-U.S.-based schools.
