Rediscovering Wonder in Wales
Wilde, Susie
Teaching Artist Journal, v5 n4 p260-268 Oct 2007
Imaginative writing is a great vehicle for creative thinking and risk taking as children structure a reality in a story. However, the author believes that American children are untrained for this sort of work and progress. They need connected experiences. This insight intensifies the author's resolution to seek collaboration with artists in other modalities to deepen learning experiences for children with whom she work. In this article, the author describes and reflects on a writing project in a Welsh school that reignites her passion for teaching collaborative writing.
