Hoopes, Laura L. Mays
CBE - Life Sciences Education, v6 n4 p275-276 Win 2007
This article presents an interview with H. Craig Heller, a professor of Biological Sciences (in Humanities and Sciences) at Stanford University. In this interview, Heller talks about an interesting course he has taught at Stanford called "Exercise Physiology" and what he likes about it. What is unique about this course is that in laboratory, the students do experiments on each other. Heller describes a human biology outreach program for middle school grades that he developed, explains the structure of the interdisciplinary human biology program which he is involved in, and comments on writing and updating his popular textbook, "Life: The Science of Biology."
